Artificial intelligence (AI) is a discipline that aims to create machines capable of reasoning and learning in a similar way to humans. Originating in 1952, its rapid advances have opened the debate on the impact of these technologies on people's lives. This development, like almost all other areas of communication and convergent culture, is in the hands of the most powerful technology companies: Google, Apple, Meta, Amazon. GAFA also hold their dominance in this aspect of the convergent communications market.

n the last year, one of its most effective materializations, Generative Artificial Intelligence, particularly ChatGPT, became the protagonist due to its expanded social use, along with the tools designed to generate images, photographs and illustrations, with very specific examples in the recent Argentine electoral campaign and in the daily life of the recent government, whose members use it thoughtlessly. If we focus specifically on the media, its expansion in the development of news enables a series of very significant debates on its regulation and the issue of rights, among others.

Under these considerations, it would be appropriate to account for the tensions that are experienced between the modes of existence of technologies with communication as a discipline and human rights.
